The Design for the Headquarters of the Sociedade Portuguesa de Psicanálise was one of the most exciting and challenging projects on which we have worked.

From the client’s point of view, moving from a 1900s building, they wanted their new HQ, which houses both admin, training and counselling facilites, to retain a ‘home feeling’, whilst being a modern and flexible space where they could grow.

Our response was developed around this idea of a circular process, a direct reference to the actual workings of psychoanalysis, and the flexible teaching and conference spaces sit at the heart of the project, surrounded by two corridors around which all circulation is organised.
