THUSO CENTRE -PHASE II
Butha-Buthe, Lesotho | 2009-10

The Thuso Centre is a Special Needs School supported by Sentebale. Phase II of this project intended to transform this school into the country's first National Assessment Centre.

An 'oversailing' metalic roof structure houses the new functions of the centre and include different medical/testing rooms, a community/school hall and office spaces for the centre. The double roof structure, which creates large covered external play areas, was designed to allow for maximum flexibility and ensure an efficient way of protecting all structures from the elements and solving different thermal requirements.

Concept Design, Design Development and Technical Design by Camille Bonneau + Pedro Clarke for Sentebale.
