The brief called for the (re)design of an entire new city block making space to house 65,000sqm of student accommodation and support structures.

Our proposal divided the site vertically into two realms, one public, housing the restaurants, retail and support facilities organised over lower floors of the 'plinth', all accessible from street level and from the new ramped piazza which was the key public space of the scheme. And a private realm, comprised of '4 towers' placed above this plinth/public space and where all the student rooms were located.

Invited Competition | Project in collaboration with Wald China Architects (Beijing), Zhejiang University Architecture Department (Hangzhou) and Raimondo da Col.
